This is one of our favorite pasta dishes.  It is simple, fast and most importantly delicious!  This is the same Alfredo recipe that I already have posted but I have changed the recipe slightly and added in the roasted red pepper.  Add in some chicken or shrimp and serve with a salad and there you have it, a fantastic dinner!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream (I have also done half cream and half milk)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 roasted red pepper, pureed (I use the ones from the jar and puree it)
  • cooked pasta
  • cooked chicken or shrimp (optional)

Directions:

   Melt butter in a large skillet. Add heavy cream, milk and garlic powder; heat to a simmer. Using a whisk; stir in salt, pepper, basil, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes, or until thickened; stirring occasionally. Add in the pureed roasted red pepper and mix.  Pour sauce over cooked pasta and add in your meat.
