These cheese puffs have been in my husband’s family for a long time. They are filled with cheesy goodness. We love to serve them along side this salmon recipe and this tomato bisque soup. No matter what you are pairing it with you will be glad that you made them.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 8 ounces grated cheddar cheese (I like to do a mixture of mozzarella and cheddar, also I get crazy and add a little extra cheese)
- 1 cube butter, softened
- 1 egg white, beaten slightly
- 1 tsp. dill weed
- 1 loaf white/wheat bread
Directions:
In a medium bowl mix together the cream cheese, cheese and butter. Add in the egg white and the dill weed. Mix until all is combined. Take 3 slices of bread, lay 1 piece of bread on a cutting board, cover with the cheese mixture. Then place another slice of bread on top and spread it with the cheese mixture. Place the last piece of bread on top and top it with the cheese mixture. Repeat until all the cheese mixture is gone. So you are making 5-6, 3-decker sandwiches. Cut crust off and then cut into quarters. Bake at 400 for 10 mins. Then broil until the tops are bubbly and lightly browned. Serve warm.
