These sandwiches have been in my husband’s family for years and the special sauce comes from my Father In-Law.  It was especially difficult to pin down the recipe, because he does the sauce by taste and feel 🙂  Not portions and measurements.  Finally, I was able to get an idea of the right recipe and it was worth the wait. Ham or turkey are great compliments along with a soft dinner roll to complete the sandwich. These sandwiches are very simple, very tasty and can feed 5 or 500.

Ingredients:

Sauce

  • 1 c. mayo
  • 3 tsp. sugar
  • 1/8 c. mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 Tbsp. garlic salt

Sandwich

  • shredded ham
  • shredded turkey
  • King’s Hawiaiian rolls or other small rolls

Directions:

Whisk all ingredients for the sauce together.  When ready to serve the sandwiches, cut rolls in half, spread sauce on both sides of roll and top with desired meat.  Serve immediately.
