We love pasta in our home and love to try all kinds of different sauces marinara, pesto and alfredo being near the top of our list.  As such, we like to find different recipes and try them out and my sister found this alfredo sauce a few months ago and passed it on and it has quickly become one of our favorites.  It is creamy, packed with flavor and turns any normal pasta dish into a home run.

Instructions:

  • 1/2 cup butter {no substitutes}
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • Cooked chicken, any method of cooking: grilled, baked or boiled (optional)
  • Cooked pasta, any pasta will do

Directions:

Melt butter in a large skillet. Add heavy cream and garlic powder; heat to a simmer. Using a whisk; stir in salt, pepper, basil, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Continue to simmer for 15 minutes, or until thickened; stirring occasionally.  Serve over pasta and top with chicken.  This recipe is also good as a dipping sauce with breadsticks.
