Warm, buttery and sweet syrup topped on your favorite breakfast item! We love buttermilk syrup! This is my go to buttermilk syrup recipe that we make on special occasions and honestly whenever we feel like it:). Once you have tasted this there is no turning back. You will absolutely love it!!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. light corn syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions:
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat combine the butter, buttermilk, sugar, corn syrup and vanilla. Bring mixture to a boil stirring often. Boil for a minute or two. Remove from heat and add baking soda. Stir the syrup together. It will start to bubble up and make sure that it doesn’t bubble out of the pan. Serve with french toast, crepes, waffles, pancakes or really anything.
