This was our first year doing Thanksgiving on our own. I wanted to post some Thanksgiving recipes before Thanksgiving but I didn’t have any pictures. So sorry in advanced for the late Thanksgiving food. But hey it is the Holidays and really you can make any of these recipes anytime throughout!
This is one of our favorite ways to have green beans. You stem some fresh green beans and then add a little salt, olive oil, butter and toasted almonds. There you have it simple, elegant and delicious!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt
- Toasted slivered or sliced almonds, for garnish
Directions
Cook green beans 5 minutes in 1-inch boiling water, covered. Drain beans and return pan to heat. Add oil and butter pat to the pan. Toss beans in oil and melted butter. Season beans with a little salt and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish green beans with toasted slivered or sliced almonds.
